Davis, Scott Vote to Sell Community School for Less than 2% Of Its Value
Body Camp Elementary Will Go to Private Company Zitel
In a startling vote tonight by Bedford County’s Board of Supervisors, the board voted to sell a $7Million building, formerly the Body Camp Elementary School, to a private company for $100,000 - less than 2% of its value.
Supervisors Bob Davis and Tommy Scott - who represent districts with former school used as community centers - voted in favor of the sale.
An alternative proposal was submitted by community members to transform the building into a gathering center for residents.
